Project Background

Global first: the world’s first drillship “Dream” carries the first test mining drilling probe, breaking through the blank of deep-sea monitoring technology;

Core objective: real-time monitoring of temperature and pressure data of test wells, assessment of development effect and environmental risk;

Technical challenge: the first independent research and development in China, with no mature experience to follow;

Extreme environment: water depth of 1,000+ meters, pressure ≥13MPa, temperature 0~5℃; Extra-long cycle: the system needs to operate stably for more than 5 years.

Solution

Data Acquisition: DTS Fiber Optic Temperature Measurement: 0.5m resolution, real-time generation of 3D map of wellbore temperature.

DHG electronic thermobarometer: high precision temperature and pressure acquisition.

Communication: sonar communication + EBD backup storage (ROV underwater robot retrieves data).

Power supply: Built-in battery (more than 5 years) + EBD emergency power supply cabin.

Underwater sealing chamber design: 20MPa pressure resistance, anti-corrosion coating + double O-ring seals, passed 1,500 meters water depth test.

High Stability Circuit Design: Reliability hardware design (5 years unattended work), ultra-low power consumption control chip (5 years of ultra-long time work).

Upper computer software: system control, data acquisition (3D map display), data analysis through sonar.
